South Central Championships! and other news! (edit)
Ok folks, it is official, the NA Hardcourt Bike Polo South Central Championships are going to be hosted in Austin Texas this year. This is a Regional Qualifier for the North American Championships later this year, so get your team together, get training, and come ready to slay the damn court! The dates are April 14-15th 7th-8th starting at 9am both days!!
There are only going to be 32 spots available for teams to register. So this means you better be ready when registration opens up! South Central Represent!
Just in case you didn't know who is in the SC region: Louisiana, Texas, Alabama, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming, and Mexico! There are 29 clubs registered on the league of bike polo site in the SC region, surely we can fill this tourney up with regional players!?!
Austin Texas Bike Polo Social Club Members:
We've done this in the past so I know it will work again, we need to design our poster, and since we have so many creative and artistic people in our club, it would be nice to have a poster design competition again. Who's down? All you need to do is draw/design something up and if it's voted as numero uno by the club, we will work to digitize it and make it web/poster/t-shirt worthy!
Since the tourney is in April we need to get a poster together soon! So let's say by the end of the month we will all have submitted our designs and we can have a club meeting to vote on our favorite! SO THE END OF JANUARY IS THE DEADLINE TO SUBMIT A POSTER! WE CAN VOTE THE FIRST WEEK IN FEBRUARY!
On another note, January 25th is our clubs official birthday. That falls on a Wednesday, so let's celebrate the Sunday before on the 22nd. Last year we went and played at each of the courts we've played at since polo started in ATX. This year we can do anything you all want, but let's do one thing for sure! GROUP PICTURE! It's always nice to get everyone together and have a nice group photo! Any ideas on location or timing will be appreciated! So start thinking about it!

B/CS Rock The Republic Tourney
You may have seen these already, but it shows what that day was all about pretty well, Bike Polo! I didn't take any team photos, but team "3 kings" took home the victory, Miguel Sr., Miguel Jr., and Chandel! Good work you guys, a fun weekend indeed!

BCS RR BPT
Bryan/College Station is hosting an Alley-cat race and a Polo Tournament at Neal Park on Saturday Nov. 12, to coincide with the Rock the Republic Festival. They have a really nice court there, ideal polo size. They have offered spaces to crash, so hit em up on the FB page here! If you need a ride, let someone know! It was fun last year, this year there should definitely be more teams there! TEXAS BIKE POLO!

That's right kids. Scary Larry KAnsas Bike Polo is hosting another tournament. Teams are coming from all over the country for some awesome polo. Come check it out. Pick up begins Friday at noon. Saturday swiss rounds. Saturday night at the Re-Play. Sunday double-Elimination bracket. Food provided. Bring your drink of choice and come watch and/or play some great polo. Come get ooshed on, unless you think you can oosh in the Larry.
More details to come. And spread the work to anyone that may want to come.

Well.... it's been a while...
... but, we are back to using the OG ATXBPSC blog, thank you blogger for not deleting us... :)
So, blogger has updated it's features, allowed for us to much more easily customize our blog and make it that much better to look at. I hope you like! If you haven't already noticed there is a new link on the right hand side entitled "Buy ATXBPSC Stuff!!" Click on it and check it out... it's something I'm experimenting with, not sure how it will pan out, but I put up our old t-shirt designs for purchase through the Zazzle site, which does custom digital printing of t-shirts, buttons, stickers and other stuff. Kinda cool, eh? The profit for us is very little, but there is no expense for us to do this, so if you have an idea for a shirt and want to put it up there, get with me and we can add it to the ATXBPSC store, hosted by Zazzle!

Today is a beautiful day!

FYI - I will be up at Lake Austin celebrating my nephews 1st birthday this afternoon. I don't know when I'll be done with all that, but I may not be out to polo today until later! So come out and get it started yourselves, you know where the cones are, just don't steal anything... ha.
There are several out of towners still here and wanting to play some polo! I am sadly still without my polo bike, the bike polo fairy didn't return it last night like I hoped, so when I do show up, expect me to be getting drunk!
Also, there is a small reward for my bike if returned! won't be much and won't be cash, but I would like to show my appreciation!

MISSING!!!
maruishii frame, 26" velocity chukker wheels 48h milwuakee hubs, bike polo stickers all over, distinct pink grips, rear brake mounted to left side, seat is all torn up, sugino road cranks, with black platform pedals with purple holdfast straps!! the tires are 26x2.2something and all worn down from skidding... and there's a white industries 22 freewheel on the wheel

So, I know you all already saw this when Mo posted it up the other day, but we should really start thinking about it. This will be a friendly tournament to hopefully get as many of the South Central clubs together as possible... our friends in CO and WY probably won't make it, but everyone else will, hopefully. Also, this is relatively close to the Midwest, so several of those clubs will come down, COMO, STL, and probably some others. If you haven't been to a tourney and have some free time this weekend, I would highly recommend going to this. The drive is only 8.5 hours and would be relatively cheap with a full car or two.
I know as of now, there are 5-6 of us going, so we have possibly two teams already. It would be awesome to go with more!! So if you are thinking about coming to this, start talking to some others and get a team going, if you can't fill out a full team there are likely going to be some extras at the tournament who won't have a team.
